Margarita Ramirez joined Liberty Hill in 1981. She is currently Deputy Director of Grantmaking. She is also a member of the Steering Committee for Southern California Hispanics in Philanthropy and participates as an institutional member of Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees and Southern California Grantmakers. Her lifelong commitment to social change was triggered in 1970 when she watched LAPD and L.A. County Sheriff deputies teargas and club peaceful men, women and children participating in the Chicano Moratorium.
