“When I was a young teacher, my sixth-grade student Angelica absolutely never spoke at school. Never. When she was yanked from class and deported with her family back to Mexico, I understood her silence: she had been too frightened to speak. This experience and others before and after turned me into an activist.” Rebecca joined Liberty Hill in 2009 to collaborate on strategic communications. She has held communications positions with Occidental College, the Anti-Defamation League and the Milken Family Foundation. Rebecca also founded and directed Together, a (very) grassroots organization fighting prejudice, racism and discrimination. She is a proud graduate of UCLA.
Rebecca was a Fellow at Liberty Hill in 2010.
